The Virginia Kennel Club requires that every applicant be a dog owner at the time a membership application is submitted.
As stated in the Constitution and By‐Laws of the Virginia Kennel Club, applicants must be:
- At least 18 years of age
- In good standing with the American Kennel Club; and
- Must agree to the objectives and Code of Ethics of the Virginia Kennel Club. Before an applicant can be approved for Virginia Kennel Club membership, you must fill out the membership application with two letters of endorsements. Attend 3 meetings and the applicant’s credentials then must be reviewed by the Board of Directors of the Virginia Kennel Club, and sent to the membership for approval.
Regular (Individual) $20 – the member enjoys all club privileges including the right to vote and hold office.
Regular (Family) $30 – family members enjoy all club privileges including the right to vote and hold office with the exception of children under the age of 18 years old.
Honorary – this type of membership shall be bestowed upon an individual who has made significant contributions to the Sport, Breed or the Club. Honorary members shall pay no dues and are not eligible to vote, but the honoree can maintain regular membership if they pay dues.
