THE VIRGINIA KENNEL CLUB, established in 1934, has made its mark through the years in producing its popular and successful dog events. A member club of the American Kennel Club, its annual show attracts top-rated dogs, owners, handlers, and judges.
Club objectives are to promote the interest of dogs and breeders of purebred dogs; to stimulate and interest in public exhibition of dogs by the holding of dog shows and to encourage sportsmanlike competition at dog shows; to further safeguard the interests of breeders and exhibitors of dogs and to promote better laws for their protection; to conduct sanctioned matches, dog shows and obedience trials and any other event for which the club is eligible under the rules and regulations of the American Kennel Club.
Our mutual interest is the exchange of ideas, knowledge and experience to more thoroughly enjoy our hobby and to promote the advancement of all breeds of dogs.
We are proud members and supporters of the American Kennel Club and the Canine Health Foundation.
A not-for-profit organization, the Virginia Kennel Club influences many audiences through its community activities that promote interest in dogs, responsible dog ownership, and canine health.
