Handling Class is on Wednesday nights from 6:30 to 8:00pm at:
Dog Lovers Obedience School

Instructors are volunteers and include Tom Dowell, AKC judge and former Professional Handler, Kyllian Genzmer, Professional Handler and several VKC Members.

Highlights:

• $10 cash per handler
• Class is from 6:30 to 8:00pm – One continuous session
• No small dog / large dog split
• Arrive anytime and jump right in
• The instructors will run the ring to allow adequate space by dog size and ability so everyone gets the attention they need in a safe manner and plenty of turns at practice.
• We have a new, sturdy ramp for practicing those breeds commonly shown on a ramp.

Important reminders and tips:

• No girls in season
• Handlers must maintain control of their dogs at all times
• Dog-to-dog interaction is optional — dogs do not need to greet or be in each other’s space, and certainly not at a dog show
• Don’t feed your puppy or dog before class and potty them outside before entering the building- entrance is at back of the building.
• Dogs and puppies new to handling class must bring age-appropriate vaccine records for review at sign-in
• Current waiver must be signed and/or on file with us
• If you are working late and will be arriving after 7:30, text Sarah Morgan ahead of time

THE VIRGINIA KENNEL CLUB, established in 1934, has made its mark through the years in producing its popular and successful dog events. A member club of the American Kennel Club, its annual show attracts top-rated dogs, owners, handlers, and judges.

Club objectives are to promote the interest of dogs and breeders of purebred dogs; to stimulate and interest in public exhibition of dogs by the holding of dog shows and to encourage  sportsmanlike competition at dog shows; to further safeguard the interests of breeders and exhibitors of dogs and to promote better laws for their protection; to conduct sanctioned matches, dog shows and obedience trials and any other event for which the club is eligible under the rules and regulations of the American Kennel Club.

Our mutual interest is the exchange of ideas, knowledge and experience to more thoroughly enjoy our hobby and to promote the advancement of all breeds of dogs.
